“We initially went with Sound Originals out of cost consideration and ease of booking because their combined photo/video package seemed so much more cost effective than many of the quotes we were getting from individual photographers and videographers. We assumed therefore that the quality might be a bit diminished by comparison, but were quite pleasantly surprised to discover that this was not the case! We are beyond pleased with the coverage they provided of our wedding and reception, and would certainly recommend Sound Originals to anyone seeking photo/video of their big day. Our team on the day of the wedding were absolute rock stars. Kate, Trung, and Travis all were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond in ensuring we had excellent photos and video--both candids and plandids. We're so grateful to each of them for their excellent work! If you're considering booking Sound Originals, there is one practical consideration we might offer, however: Their business model seems streamlined to provide a standardized product and level of quality to many clients at once by contracting with local photographers and videographers--this is great for ensuring that clients know what to expect visually and that the company has backup photographers ready in case any members of the assigned team can't make it, but this also seems to come at the cost of personal touch when communicating with the company and the photo/video team. Our communications with them were always through a portal on their website and often felt rather impersonal. This was a trade off we were perfectly fine with, given the very affordable price we paid for our package and the piece of mind in knowing that even if our lead photographer got sick or something, someone else would be there to fill in. If you, however, require a high level of customization or personal touch and want to cultivate a close relationship with your photographer, then you may want to hire a photographer/team directly.”

“We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

“JJ did such a fantastic job at our wedding this June! 3 things really stood out about him! 1) Attentive JJ Really paid attention to what I wanted our wedding day and reception to look like. Everything went so smoothly on the day of because he had really paid attention and gone over every detail of the timeline I had typed up. He was so fun and energetic and really got the party going! He customized our playlist too so that all my favorite songs got played at the wedding. 2) Professional Even though he is definitely fun and outgoing, he was very professional in all his text messages and emails and phone calls. He is very personable and friendly, but sticks to what needs to be accomplished. I really appreciated that. 3) Available JJ gave me his cell phone number and email address. They also paid special attention to one guest who had allergies by providing an alternative salad for them; which we were so thankful for! We rented candles, décor, and a large seating chart from them, which was such a lifesaver. Our wedding day went so smoothly, nothing went wrong (or if it did, I had no idea, because Hannah was on top of everything!). I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
